Well, today in our town, we are getting snow! As of this moment I would say a good 8" has fallen. This snow poses a problem because we had our PPD (Tuberculosis) done on Thursday, and it needs to be checked by our doctor either today or tomorrow. Maybe I can snap a digital picture? :)
So far we have completed all of our other paperwork:
Application: January 29, 2010
Finger Prints: January 28, 2010
Physicals: January 28, 2010
Background Check Papers: January 29, 2010
PPD (TB test) Injection: January 28, 2010
Checking TB Injection Site: January 31, 2010 (Negative for both of us)
We start PRIDE class Thursday, February 4, 2010.
Now I am working on a new list of other items we will need. Like car insurance, home owners insurance, income information, etc.
I am getting really excited! If you want to visit an AWESOME forum. Try the Adoption Forum here: ADOPTION FORUM

Moving Forward!
So, we're done with fertility treatments! My heart, and my husband's heart are being led towards adoption. I realize there is still going to be an emotional roller-coaster involved, but at the end of the ride, we are going to be parents. That is something fertility treatments can't guarantee.
We are going through our local Social Services to become foster parents. When you train to be a foster parent, they also complete a home study to approve you for adoption. Our intent is to only foster children already legally free from their biological family.
I know in my heart there is a little girl, little boy, or both waiting for a mom and dad, and they don't even realize that we're waiting for them too.
I am so excited to start this process.
This weekend we painted the bedroom and installed new flooring. We also are getting a bed and I bought the cutest bedding. I guess I need to add some photos to this blog.
So right now we're just waiting to get our training started! Our first initial home check is Wednesday at 3:45. Just a quick run through to check fire detectors etc.
I will keep everyone posted!

Cycle 4 Here We Come!
So I saw the RE on 12/3 to have my baseline ultrasound. That was the first day of my cycle. I didn't have any cysts so that was a good thing. I go back to him 12/9 to get a Sonohysterogram. Then I return on 12/15 to check the egg development and see if I am okay to trigger. I ordered my trigger shot last week. I began the Clomid 150mg today. I am really hopeful that this cycle will at a minimum get me to ovulate!

Picking Up Where I Left Off
So I know I have neglected to update in forever. I am really trying my best to not get obsessed with the whole process.
So let me see… I just finished my third cycle on Clomid, this cycle I took 150mg. Today is CD32, I did not ovulate this cycle.
I had my first Reproductive Endocrinologist appointment with Dr. Slackman on Wednesday, November 11. It was a good appointment. He did an ultrasound of my ovaries and didn’t seem to find any red flags.
I started Provera last night and will take it for seven days. The first day of my period I will call Dr. Slackman’s office for a baseline ultrasound. Then the day after my period ends, I will go back in for a Sonohysterogram (SHG) which is a Saline Ultrasound for the diagnosis of uterine abnormalities. This will help the doctor check for fibroids in my uterus. My mom had to have a hysterectomy because of a large fibroid, so he wants to rule out that possibility. I am fairly certain I will have no issues. The day of this visit I will also get a new RX for Clomid, probably 200mg.
I will then return to the office around cycle day 13 or 14 for another ultrasound to check for the development of follicles. If it’s found that I have follicles that are mature enough for fertilization they will give me a “trigger shot” of HCG, the hormone that tells the egg to release.
Then we will go on and “do the deed” until I am outside of the fertility window.
I did purchase Pre-Seed for this cycle. I am concerned with the trigger I make got get the proper cervical mucus consistency. The Pre-Seed has led to many pregnancies, so I am hoping the same will be true for me.
I am excited about this cycle. I certainly hope this is the cycle I get pregnant on. I am going to take my vitamins and extra Folic Acid, and hope for the best!

Fertility Massage
To any ladies interested, I had my Fertility Massage last night. Following that I had the best four hours of sleep EVER, until I had to wake at -->-->3:30--> to take my temp, but then I drifted right back to sleep.
I am on my second round of Clomid (100mg) and I figured that if massage helps with just about any ailment, it should help with my PCOS/Ovulation. So I Googled and found a great prenatal/postpartum massage specialist that is also trained in fertility massage, and she is about 20 mins from my house.
I found out some very interesting information. I am a huge believer that the body is all interconnected, and that both massage and acupuncture have positive results on the body.
So last night I had my first massage. The first thing she did was used a Castor Oil pack on my lower abdomen. What we did is spread a thick coating of oil on my belly, put saran wrap over that to “seal” it off, then laid a pillow case, then a hot water pack on top. I laid for about 45 minutes with that as she massaged the rest of me. She recommended repeating this at home for about an hour to hour and a half each night. It will free up cysts and such. Then we removed it and she massaged my lower abdomen. SIDE NOTE: You can do this at home yourself, just be sure to massage from the belly button downward to your pubic area in a clockwise pattern.

The most interesting thing I found out was about my ankles. I have very sore and tender ankles, and come to find out; the ovaries, uterus, and fallopian tubes are all connected to the ankle area. Additionally, I have TMJ in both sides of my jaw, and she said that the Jaw is related to the Pelvis, and during labor, she massages the jaw to help free up the pelvic area. I found that all amazingly interesting.
So I am on CD 15 today and we will see if I get that +OPK this cycle, or a good dip in my temp. I am very pleased with my temps not being as erratic as they were last month. This month they have stayed anywhere from 96.4-96.9, which makes me happy!
If you’re thinking of a massage for fertility, I recommend it for nothing more than a relaxation technique.
Good luck ladies and wish me luck this month. I hope I can at least get the ovulation thing going, and then the baby will hopefully soon follow.

5:50 Monday 9/14
Well, I don't think I have ever woken up on a Monday at 5:30 and been this excited!
I have been taking OPK's for over a week now.... all negative. However, yesterday I noticed a slight amount of "Transitional" Ferning on my microscope. This morning, it was FULL BLOWN ferning. That could possibly mean, I will be ovulating in the next few days. My cervix is also REALLY high, so I am hoping we can time all of this right.
Hopefully there will be a lot more to come.
Happy Monday!

I was right....
Well, I was right. I started on Wednesday, September 2. I am on cycle day 5 now, and just took my third dose of Clomid. Hopefully this month is a success. We're on vacation right now at Snowshoe Resort in West Virginia. We're having a really good time. Riding the lifts in the summer is a ton of fun because you get to see the deer and wild life. We had a couples massage yesterday... maybe it will put my body in line for some good fertility vibes.
I will be back soon!
